Kevan Weaver

Dr. Weaver is currently the Chief Technical Officer for the Advanced Test Reactor at Idaho National Laboratory (INL). Since returning to INL in 2018, he has also contributed to projects like the Westinghouse eVinci microreactor, the Department of Defense Pele mobile microreactor, and the Versatile Test Reactor (VTR) project. He has extensive experience in advanced reactor design, focusing on critical technical challenges such as the development and qualification of advanced nuclear fuels and materials. Dr. Weaver worked at TerraPower from 2007 to 2018, holding positions including Technical Fellow, Director of Technology Integration, and Director of Technology Development. Before TerraPower, he worked at INL from 1998 to 2007 in various capacities related to advanced nuclear reactor concepts. Dr. Weaver has authored over 90 publications, co-authored a textbook on fast spectrum reactors, and has 12 patents. He holds a BS in physics from Brigham Young University (1993) and a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Utah (1998).
