Ahmet Tokpinar is a Bechtel Principal Vice President and General Manager of Bechtel’s Nuclear Power business line. His portfolio includes responsibility for the global execution of nuclear power projects and overall business operations and strategy within Bechtel’s Nuclear, Security, and Environmental global business unit. Ahmet’s purview encompasses all nuclear power market segments and business line activities worldwide, including large reactors, small/advanced reactors, operating plant major modifications services, and fuel cycle.
Ahmet is an accomplished nuclear power professional with over 30 years of expertise and an extensive knowledge of nuclear power project execution and markets globally. Since joining Bechtel in 1991, he has served in a variety of leadership positions on nuclear power projects and led business development and commercial activities for all of Bechtel’s work in the nuclear power industry for nearly two decades.
Ahmet has proven experience leading strategic and operational planning, commercial structuring, and the negotiation of complex deals for nuclear projects. Most recently, he led the development for Bechtel’s major nuclear power projects, including the Vogtle Units 3&4 Construction Completion project, Poland’s new nuclear AP1000 deployment efforts, and the Natrium Demonstration Project.
Prior to his current role, Ahmet served as Manager of Nuclear Power Business Development, and Operations Manager for the Nuclear Power business line. Enabled by his past experiences and commercial acumen, Ahmet is recognized for his ability to successfully manage and oversee core business functions, delivering tangible results to both Bechtel and its customers. He was elected a Bechtel Principal Vice President in 2022.
Ahmet has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bosphoros University in Istanbul, Turkey, a Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management at Rutgers University, and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
