Dennis is a Lead Nuclear Engineer in the Corporate Licensing Department for Duke Energy where he is the lead point of contact for licensing actions associated with power uprate projects, the transition to 24-month fuel cycle projects, the transition to increased enrichment/high burnup fuel, and submittals utilizing the Risk-Informed Process for Evaluation (RIPE). He has over 10 years of Licensing/Regulatory Affairs experience, having supported the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant in the Regulatory Affairs department prior to joining Corporate Licensing in 2019. Prior to his time in Regulatory Affairs, Dennis worked in the BWR Fuels Engineering group at Progress Energy (now Duke Energy), supporting core reloads for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant along with leading surveillances of fuel supplier and sub-supplier fabrication facilities as a technical specialist. Dennis is a graduate of North Carolina State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering (2007) and a Master of Nuclear Engineering degree (2009), along with a minor in Mechanical Engineering.
