Russell (Russ) Peters is the Regional General Manager of the Fleet Control Center at Florida Power and Light (FPL), the principal subsidiary of NextEra Energy Company (NEE). Russ is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective remote operations of 23 GWs of clean energy centers in Florida from the Fleet Control Center.
Russ has served in various other roles within FPL and NEE including Regional General Manager of the Central Region (Martin and Okeechobee Plants), General Manager for Cavendish NextGen Hydrogen Hub construction to commercial operations, Plant Manager at Okeechobee, West County and Marcus Hook Clean Energy Centers, Regional Business Leader, PGD Labor Job Criteria Team Lead, Production Leader, and Control Room Operator. Additionally, Russ was the Plant Manager for constructing and going operational with the Okeechobee Clean Energy Center, three Solar Energy Centers, and Mantua Creek Battery Storage Center. Russ joined NEE in 2004 after spending 3 years in power plant maintenance and operations of varying technologies. Russ holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Neumann University, an Associate in Specialized Technology from Williamson College of the Trades and has his Six Sigma Green Belt.
