Scott Hunnewell

Hunnewell has been leading the New Nuclear Program at TVA since 2022. He has a depth of industry knowledge with a combined 26 years of experience in engineering, operations, and work management at both boiling water nuclear reactor facilities (BWR) and pressurized water reactor (PWR) facilities.
He started his career in nuclear in 1988 as a Senior Reactor Operator at the Savannah River Sites K Reactor working for DuPont/Westinghouse Savannah River Company before joining Stone & Webster and then TVA in 2009. Hunnewell spent seven years at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant and five years at the Browns Ferry Plant in key leadership roles including Plant Manager, Director of Work Management, Director of Engineering, Senior Manager of Design Engineering, Senior Manager of Systems Engineering, NSSS Manager and Project Engineer.
From 1997 to 2009, Hunnewell owned and operated construction and real estate companies in Tennessee and Oklahoma. He has held real estate licenses in New Jersey and Oklahoma and been a licensed general contractor in Georgia, Tennessee and Oklahoma.
Hunnewell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine and received his Senior Reactor Operator and Shift Technical Advisor certifications on the K Reactor from the Department of Energy.
