Kevin Ellis is General Manager of Nuclear Regulatory Affairs, Policy, and Emergency Preparedness at Duke Energy, where he leads regulatory strategy, licensing and compliance, and emergency preparedness activities supporting the company’s nuclear fleet. He has more than 20 years of nuclear industry experience spanning utility operations and nuclear regulation. Before joining Duke Energy in 2016, Kevin served with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission as a Senior Resident Inspector and began his nuclear career at Norfolk Naval Shipyard supporting nuclear submarine refueling. At Duke Energy, he has held leadership roles in regulatory affairs, nuclear support services, and plant support engineering. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and has earned senior reactor operator certification at Oconee Nuclear Station.
