Jhansi Kandasamy is the Vice President of The Nuclear Company’s Commercial Business Development
Prior to Joining TNC in October 2024, she served as the executive director of DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory Net-Zero program. She was responsible for leading INL to become a global model for achieving net-zero emissions by 2031 through the development and implementation of carbon-free and carbon-capture technologies.
She brings 35 years of industry experience and leadership as the former Executive Vice President of Engineering Services for GE-Hitachi, supporting operating GE reactors and designing new small modular reactors.
She has worked at five nuclear generating stations: Limerick, Oyster Creek, Palo Verde, Salem and Hope Creek.
She began her career at the Limerick Generating station as an electrical engineer for the Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO)/Exelon and held progressive roles as Maintenance Supervisor, Operations Supervisor, Engineering Manager at Exelon's Limerick Generating Station. She worked with the NRC and NJ state as the Regulatory Affairs Manager & Chemistry Environmental Manager at Oyster Creek Generating Station. She then transitioned to Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) working at Salem/Hope Creek generating stations in New Jersey where she held positions as Work Management Director and Senior Projects Director.
In addition, Kandasamy is past chair of US Women in Nuclear (WIN), an 8,000-plus member organization, and co-founder of US WIN Nuclear Executives of Tomorrow (NEXT) She currently serves on the Executive Board of WiNGlobal. She is a co-founder and Executive Board member of Idaho’s VIEW, Vision for an Inclusive Engineering Workforce. She is a recipient of the U.S. WIN Leadership award (2024), The Real Leaders (Magazine) Impact Award “leading the most impactful mission” (2024) and Real Leaders (Magazine) Best speaker award (2025).
Kandasamy is a chairman of a rural College of Sciences that her father started in India. She received her MBA from Eastern University and her BS in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
