John Cherubini is a seasoned security executive with over four decades of experience in physical security operations and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as Nuclear Security Director at Entergy Nuclear in Jackson, Mississippi, John leads comprehensive security programs across multiple sites, ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of four operating nuclear reactors. His expertise spans emergency preparedness integration, vulnerability assessments, and the development of long-range security strategies, including adversary threat analysis and protective enhancements.
John’s distinguished career includes pivotal roles with the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he conducted rigorous inspections of licensed nuclear power reactors and engaged with stakeholders to uphold national security standards. At Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, he progressed from Security Officer to Superintendent, overseeing a force of more than 200 officers and managing all aspects of security operations, training, and contingency response.
A veteran of the United States Army, John served as a Military Policeman in Germany, West Point, and Iraq, earning recognition as the 10th Mountain Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year in 2002. His leadership is characterized by strong negotiating skills, business acumen, and a commitment to excellence in team building and organizational efficiency.
