Chuck Kharrl is President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nuclear Officer of STP Nuclear Operating Company. In this role, he is responsible for the overall safe and reliable operation of Units 1 and 2 as well as the overall strategic direction of the company.
Chuck has more than 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry, with a career that began in U.S. Navy nuclear propulsion. He is a graduate of the Naval Nuclear Power School and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. He has held Senior Reactor Operator licenses at multiple nuclear stations, including Palo Verde, Enrico Fermi and St. Lucie.
Chuck joined STP in June 2025 as President, CEO and CNO. Prior to this role, he served as President and Chief Nuclear Officer at EnergySolutions, where he led the company's newly established Nuclear Services Division. Earlier, he spent more than five years at Southern Nuclear leading Fleet Governance and Oversight, Refueling and Capital Projects, and served as Site Vice President at the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant.
He also held a progression of senior leadership roles at Arizona Public Service's Palo Verde Generating Station, advancing through Operations, Work Management and Plant Management to Vice President of Site Operations. Chuck has extensive experience overseeing Fleet Governance, Project Management and Outage Services. Chuck and his wife live in Bay City, Texas.
