Ken Peters is the Executive Vice President & Chief Nuclear Officer for Vistra, the largest competitive power generator in the U.S. Peters is responsible for all aspects of operation of Vistra’s six nuclear units at four power plant sites. The nuclear units have a combined capacity of 6,400 MW.
The 2300-person nuclear team is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the four nuclear power plants, in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. This includes the operation, maintenance, and refueling at each unit. The team has a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.
In addition to his corporate duties, Peters has been active in industry and his community. He is a member of the Texas Radiation Advisory Board, appointed in 2019. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Utilities Service Alliance (USA) and serves on the Texas A&M Nuclear Engineering Program Advisory Council.
