Mike Pappas

Mike Pappas is the Executive Director of the Construction Industry Institute. Prior to that he was the Program Director for Project Management at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He has more than 30 years of capital project management experience, including 10 years in the field.
Mike graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri S&T) and completed graduate degrees at The University of Texas at Austin. He was inducted into the Missouri S&T Academy of Civil Engineers in 2020. He is a former U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps officer, self-employed project management consultant, and Associate Director of Research and Deployment at CII.
He and Barbie have been married for 34 years, and have two sons who are a flight paramedic in Big Spring, TX and a mechanical engineer in Kansas City, MO. They enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping.
