Josh Bell is a nuclear innovation leader with 16 years of experience advancing AI, robotics, and digital modernization across operating nuclear fleets and new build programs. He serves as Director of NPX US, where he partners with utilities to turn modernization vision into enterprise-ready capability, currently supporting active programs with three of the largest nuclear utilities in the country.
Before NPX, Josh spent nearly 16 years at Dominion Energy, where he led one of the first fleet-scale, on-premises AI deployments in the U.S. nuclear industry. He also pioneered quadruped robotics in operating nuclear environments, helping lead one of the first teams in the world to deploy a ground robot inside an online nuclear containment. That work earned three consecutive NEI Top Innovative Practice Awards, including two Best of the Best selections.
A licensed Professional Engineer in Virginia, Josh holds a B.S. in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering, a B.A. in Economics, and an MBA. He is a founding board member of the Nuclear Business Information Council and Hispanics in Energy Virginia, and he stays active across ANS, ASME, EPRI, and NAYGN. His focus throughout stays constant: bridging operations, engineering, IT, and executive leadership to deliver practical, measurable gains in plant performance and workforce effectiveness.
