Tighe Smith serves as Chief Nuclear Officer at Mirion, bringing over 20 years of experience across nuclear engineering, digital safety systems, commercial leadership, and industry policy engagement. In this role, he guides Mirion’s nuclear strategy across the global operating fleet and emerging advanced reactor markets. Tighe previously held the CNO role at Paragon Energy Solutions, now part of Mirion, where he supported strategic growth initiatives, captured key SMR customers, and drove the expansion of digital safety and instrumentation capabilities. He is an active contributor to the broader nuclear community, serving as a Trustee of the American Nuclear Society and as Convenor of IEC SC45A Working Group 9, helping advance international standards for nuclear instrumentation and control. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering and an MBA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
