Zak Lafontaine

Director Technical Services

Centrus Energy Corporation

Zak Lafontaine is the Director of Technical Services for Centrus Energy Corp where he oversees the engineering, nuclear safety and laboratory services organizations at the Piketon, Ohio facility.

Prior to joining Centrus, he served as the federal Program Manager for DOE’s Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride (DUF6) Conversion plants located in Paducah, KY and Piketon, OH.  He was also formerly a Facility Representative with DOE responsible for oversight of DUF6 plant operations, electrical safety and engineering practices at the Piketon site along with holding various engineering and management positions with site contractors prior to joining DOE.

Zak is a PMP Certified Project Manager and Registered Professional Engineer with over 18 years of experience related to engineering and program management in the nuclear industry. In addition, Mr. Lafontaine also has experience related to compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards and was formerly a NERC Certified Power System Operator.
