Mandi Brigman

General Manager, Plant Reliability Engineering

Mandi Brigman currently serves as the Catawba Nuclear Station Maintenance Manager. Prior to July 1st, she was the Plant Reliability Engineering (PRE) General Manager for the Duke Energy Nuclear fleet for 3 years. In the PRE role, she led the corporate engineering teams responsible for strategic support of the nuclear plants to continuously improve plant reliability through elimination of risk and prevention of consequential events. Since beginning her career with Duke Energy, Mandi has held various engineering roles at Catawba Nuclear Station (CNS) as the Operations Support Engineering Director, Rapid Response Manager, Mechanical Systems Manager, Equipment Reliability Coordinator, and pump engineer. In addition to the various Engineering roles, Mandi spent 5 years on shift in Operations at CNS as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO), Shift Technical Advisor (STA), Reactor Operator (RO), and Auxiliary Operator (AO). ​

In addition to the technical roles, Mandi has been an active member of Women in Nuclear (WIN), Business Womens Network (BWN), and North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN). She is currently an active member of the U.S. WIN Communications committee. Through these organizations, she has had the opportunity to interact with the community through school outreach programs and encourage elementary and middle school students to pursue careers in engineering, science, and nuclear fields. Most notable is her work with the Saluda Trail Middle School Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science (GEMS) program, Discovery Place Science Museum, and contributions to the See It To Imagine Toolkit developed by the 2023 WIN NEXT (Nuclear Executives of Tomorrow) cohort. ​

Mandi graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She received a Professional Engineering License in the state of North Carolina in 2009 and a Senior Reactor Operator License in 2012. She also completed the Senior Nuclear Plant Management Course in 2024. ​

Mandi lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina with her husband, Jay, and two children, Kinsey (13) and Carter (9). ​
